Mahinur Ergün (1956 - )
Mahinur Ergün was born in Bursa in 1956. Ergün, who studied high school at Üsküdar American Girls' High School, completed her university education at Ankara University, School of Press and Broadcasting, Department of Cinema and Television. After his education, Ergün started working as an advertising producer. Ergün, who shot short films in the cinema club he founded with his friends for a long time, worked as an advertising director for a while until he shot his first film. He had his first assistant experience with Sinan Çetin. In 1987, he shot a video called "A Foreign Love". Ergün's first feature film, "Night Dance Prisoners", for which he wrote the script, He shot the movie in 1988. In 1989, he took the director's chair for the second time with the movie "Medcezir Manzaraları". Kadir İnanır and Zuhal Olcay starred in the film. Ergün, who won the "Best Film" and "Best Director" awards at the 3rd Ankara Film Festival, discussed the weaknesses of women against authoritarian men in this film.
Thanks to the success of the movie "Medcezir Manzaraları", Ergün shot the movie "Ay Vakti" in 1993, with support from the Ministry of Culture. This film won the "Best Actress" (Füsun Demirel) award at the Ankara Film Festival. Ergün, who later concentrated on television-oriented series, also worked as the screenwriter of the TV series "Asmalı Konak" (2003).
