İlksen Basarir (1978 - )
Ilksen Basarir was born in Istanbul in 1978. He completed his high school education at Saint-Benoit French High School. He received his undergraduate education at Marmara University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Journalism. He stepped into the cinema industry by working as an assistant in the movie "Şellale" (2001), directed by Semir Aslanyürek. He shot his first feature film, "Love in Another Language", in 2009. "Love in Another Language", for which he also wrote the script, won the "Promising New Screenwriter" (İlksen Başkar, Mert Fırat) and "Selection Committee Special Award" (İlksen Başkar) awards at the 21st Ankara Film Festival. In 2011, he directed the movie "Atlı Karınca", the script of which he wrote together with Mert Fırat. “Carousel” received the “Best Screenplay” award (İlksen Başkar, Mert Fırat) at the 47th Antalya Film Festival. In 2013, he wrote the script and directed the movie Male Side: Testosteron, which was adapted from a theater play to the big screen.
