Füruzan (F. Yerdelen) (1935 - )
Füruzan was born in Istanbul in 1935. Füruzan, who worked as a theater actor after primary school, turned to the writing profession. His first story was published in Seçilmiş Öyküler Magazine in 1956. Füruzan, who brought a new breath to Turkish storytelling, won the "Sait Faik Story Gift" award in 1972 with his work "Parasız Yatılı". He wrote the script of the movie "Ah Güzel İstanbul" directed by Ömer Kavur, which was released in 1981. With this film, he stepped into the cinema industry. He directed his first and only film, "My Cinemas" (1990), together with the painter Gülsüm Karamustafa. Füruzan also wrote the script of the film. This film was adapted from Füruzan's work of the same name. The film, starring Hülya Avşar, won awards at national and international film festivals.
