Deniz Gamze Ergüven (1978 - )
Deniz Gamze Ergüven came to life in Ankara in 1978. When he was 6 months old, his family moved to France. He completed his undergraduate education at the Department of Literature and African History at the University of Paris. He completed his master's degree at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Later, he studied directing at the film school "La Femis". He participated in the Cannes Film Festival with the short film "Une Goutte D'eau", which he prepared as his graduation project. In 2015, his first feature film, "Mustang", which he wrote and directed, was released. The film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globe and Oscar. In 2017, he returned to the director's chair with the movie "Kings".
